Let that sentence hit you. Black people find joy in the hardest of situations. Black people find hope in the darkest of nights. Black people lit up a street today with the most beautiful rendition of Happy Birthday for Breonna Taylor– but even though this is the most loving, most wonderful, most affirming good thing– Breonna Taylor should be alive.
