notes from the universe (2)
I’ve been ignoring the universe for awhile now. Ushered in this new part of my personality called practicality.
When I hear your laughter dancing inside crackling fire, I no longer rush to move closer to the heat. Instead, I extinguish the flames.
Draw the curtains closed when the stars begin to speak to me.
My brother says it’s good that I don’t listen to them anymore.
But once–
I wrote that I couldn’t tell the world of my love for you. The words didn’t fit inside of my mouth.
Somehow,
I think it still got out.
